The perfect food tour for you to experience hidden places and food in Lisbon!
The Lisbon Roots, Food, & Cultural Walk takes you off the beaten track to get a unique glimpse into the fascinating history of ancient Lisbon. Leading you through this authentic neighborhood, we take you further into the local history, the roots of Fado song, the architecture, and the city culture while you discover hidden Portuguese food treasures.
You are introduced to spots that natives go to every day! We visit six local businesses and people out of the crowded and touristy areas.
During the 3,5-4 hours stroll, we lead you in small groups (12 max.), small enough not to feel like a touristy experience, but rather like you’re among friends on an intimate leisurely walk through Lisbon and its many diamonds in the rough.
We advise you to do the tour at the beginning of your stay in Lisbon (2022/2023: due to recurring delays in international flight arrivals, airport baggage handling, and queuing at passport control, we recommend you book your experience with us for the day after your arrival). By the end of the tour, you are armed with information, knowledge, and the confidence to continue exploring areas where locals live and find out what and where to eat.
And remember: join us with a slightly hungry stomach – Six iconic and unique Portuguese tasting stops are waiting for you.
The minimum is two persons per tour. If we don’t achieve that number, we will contact you 48 hours before the tour to let you know, and we will refund you 100% of the total amount.
The tour is run in English.
